How to calculate alcohol in a cocktail
For each alcoholic ingredient, multiply the pour volume by its ABV. The calculator uses alcohol density to express the result as grams of pure alcohol, adds the ingredients, and divides by the recipe servings. Non-alcoholic mixers have 0% ABV, so they do not add pure alcohol.
Use the recipe, not the cocktail name
Two drinks with the same name can use different recipes, glass sizes, and pours. For the most useful result, use the product label's ABV and measure the actual alcoholic pours. If a bottle lists U.S. proof instead, use the ABV to proof converter first.
Choose the right reference
